Mass Transit Muse on MARTA was a triumph! After gracing Art on the Beltline with a series of powerful performances in August and September, the Metro Atlanta Regional Transit Authority officially allowed a Mass Transit Muse performance on its trains, platforms, and in its stations in October. Mass Transit Muse, our three act play, started at Inman Park, walked transit riders down to the platform and on the train with song and poetry. We rode to Georgia State station for Act II after leading riders from the train and down to the station with more song and storytelling. We led riders in a walking scene to 5 Points Station for a rousing finale and spoken word open-mic. There were broad smiles and big props afterward. This won't be the last opportunity to see Mass Transit Muse in public before the official presentation to close 7 Stages 35th anniversary season in May 2014. Big ups to the team MTM: Director Heidi Howard, Stage Manager Katherine Neyslund, Artistic Director Jessica Caldas, Musical Director/Performer Dorothy Bell, Choreographer/Performer Lillian Ransijn (in the shot with me to the left) and performers Keiron Bone and Jed Drummond.
