Momolina spoken word poetry is vibrant with themes of love and politics, spirituality and history. Performances can be simultaneously humorous and edgy, raw and worldly, peppered with hip-hop rhythms and colored with jazz improvisation. In the spirit of call and response, performances are interactive and encourage audience participation. The content is profound and thought provoking, yet conversational and easily accessible.

Born and raised in New Orleans, I achieved a B.A. Magna Cum Laude at Xavier University of Louisiana, and went on to graduate from Yale Law School with a J.D. As a young adult I struggled to overcome the devastating deaths of both my parents. I have dedicated my life to continuing their legacy as educators through my work as an advocate and activist for youth leadership development through creative writing and performance. I am also a successful independent artist and media maker.
Momolina includes the services of creative consultant and muse, particularly for events meant to encourage and inspire youth, honor elders, and raise awareness about social justice. This work also includes the facilitation of workshops, large and small group discussions, and keynote speaker for conferences and gatherings.
